Save the Date! GESTEM - Virtual is Wednesday, May 19, 2021
COVID-19 has impacted gatherings in an unprecedented way. The health and safety of our GESTEM participants and volunteers continues to be our top priority.
GESTEM is moving to a virtual event for 2021. We hope to continue our tradition of introducing young women to the diverse STEM careers through hands-on workshops that are lead through a virtual platform.
Please also look out for focused follow-up emails from our other committee chairs regarding next steps.

- For SCHOOLS: we hope you can join us for this virtual field trip! Because of platform and other logistic changes, we expect to have capacity for only 200 students.
- For PRESENTERS: We greatly appreciate your intent to volunteer as a workshop presenter. Because of the change to virtual, and the smaller anticipated attendance, we plan to host 3-4 different workshops this year instead of the ~40 workshops hosted during an in-person event. Stay tuned for more about how to get involved this year.
- For SPONSORS: Thank you for your commitment to GESTEM. With our virtual format, we have minimized expenses but still have a few opportunities for sponsorship.
Empowering girls by introducing them to the exciting possibilities of STEM careers.
Event Goals:
Event Goals:
- Identify and strategically invite young women that may not have exposure to STEM in their current school or home atmosphere
- Demonstrate how STEM careers use math and teamwork to solve problems where helping people is an integral part of STEM careers
- Demonstrate that innovation requires diversity in gender, ethnicity, religion, culture and many other factors
